About the Custodian account
The Custodian account is used to manage daily user and community maintenance of Open Text Social Workplace (OTSW) in a secure, controlled setting.
Note
If you have both FirstClass and OTSW, there is no Custodian account. Manage your users the same way you would manage any other FirstClass user.
As a Custodian, you should make sure that user accounts are managed appropriately. Whenever possible, teach users how to do things for themselves, and only do the activities that they don't have permission to do. Consider writing a set of instructions or FAQs for questions you are asked often, or refer users to the appropriate help material.
As a Custodian, you can:
• check new invitations (sanity check)
• send invitations
• create new accounts
• monitor and suspend accounts
• make changes to user accounts
• upgrade people
• send new passwords
• open individual profiles.
In communities, you can:
• change community owner
• change community subscriptions
• change a community name and icon
• add moderator(s).
To access the Custodian account, log into the FirstClass client with the username "Custodian" (no quotes) and the password you were given for the Custodian account.
