Creating an organization hierarchy
About the hierarchy
The Profile section of Open Text Social Workplace contains a hierarchy option where you can view the company hierarchy and see at a glance where people are in the organization, who they report to, and so on.
To see what the current hierarchy looks like from the administrator account, open the System Profile > Profile tab, and click View. This will show you what the current hierarchy looks like that you have created.
Creating the hierarchy
You can create this hierarchy manually for each group of users, or you can allow Open Text Social Workplace to create it for you based on the organizational units (OUs) you have set up.
Creating a hierarchy manually
1 Open the Group Privileges form for a group.
2 On the Profile tab, enter the Parent Group.
This is the group that this group reports to. For example, the Sales Group may have a parent group of Sales and Marketing Management.
Creating a hierarchy automatically
1 Open the System Profile.
2 On the Profile tab, click Assist.
This tells Open Text Social Workplace to automatically build a hierarchy based on the organization units you have set up.
Note
This feature will only work if you have set up organization units.
3 Check the hierarchy that was created by clicking View.
