Guidelines for good results
Avoid dark colors in pictures that may be used as backgrounds, because unread flags and some icons do not show up well against them.
Make sure your picture fits on the lowest resolution, smallest screen used in your organization.
High resolution PICTs will be blank when viewed on Windows platforms if you just paste them directly into the resource file. To avoid this, use a different file format for high resolution pictures.

Methods for importing pictures
You can import pictures:
•       directly from files
•       using the clipboard to paste copied pictures into a resource file.
Importing pictures from files
To import a picture from a file:
1       Choose File > Import Resources.
2       Select the file.
7202010_20004_0.png        Shortcut
Drag the file to the resource list.
When FirstClass Designer adds the picture to your resource file, it creates a category that corresponds to the resource file type, if this category doesn't already exist.
If you drag a PNG file to the PNG category, it is added as a picture. It is also added as a picture if you drag it to any other category except PNG Icons, as long as the file name is alphanumeric.
The picture is assigned a unique resource ID and the resource name is the name of the original file.
3       Choose File > Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac) with the picture selected.
4       Update the following fields:

Resource name
The name you want to assign to the picture.
Resource ID
If you want to change the resource ID assigned by FirstClass Designer without overriding a standard FirstClass resource, specify a resource ID between 28000 and 28999.

Pasting pictures into resource files
To import a picture using the clipboard:
1       Open the picture you want to import in an application that lets you select and copy it.
2       Select the picture or the part of the picture you want, and copy it to the clipboard.
3       Use FirstClass Designer to open the resource file into which you want to import the picture.
4       Choose Edit > Paste.
5       Click Picture, if you are asked for the resource type.
FirstClass Designer adds the picture to the Picture category in your resource file's resource list. The picture is assigned a unique resource ID and the resource name is blank.
6       Choose File > Properties (Windows) or Get Info (Mac) with the picture selected.
7       Update the following fields:

Resource name
The name you want to assign to the picture.
Resource ID
If you want to change the resource ID assigned by FirstClass Designer without overriding a standard FirstClass resource, specify a resource ID between 28000 and 28999.
