Setting a Legal Hold If you don't want archived messages to expire at all, you can place a user on Legal Hold status, where there is no longer an expiry period for items in their Archive account. They are saved indefinitely until the user is removed from Legal Hold.   To set a legal hold for a group: 1       Open the Group form for the applicable users. 2       On the Services tab, select the "Never remove any content" checkbox. This setting overrides all other settings on this form.
